update: NEXT CLASS BEGINS FEBRUARY 1, 2016
Ready for your soup to nuts business course designed to get you a firm footing in the business photography world? Then by all means treat yourself to a holiday gift this season with a seat in class.
It's an investment that will pay you back for years to come.
Need a little more information? What will be covered? What to expect? Here you go!
The class includes a weekly PDF with weekly homework assignments that will coincide with the videotaped lesson from me that week. Most video lessons run 35-45 minutes and can be watched at your own speed. Each lesson concludes with a homework assignment.
Once homework is submitted each week, you will be given personal video feedback directly from me via video.
Throughout the week, active students are encouraged to ask questions in the forum regarding the topic being discussed that week so we can have the topic come to life.
In addition to the class lesson PDF, contract/copyright disclaimer written samples will be provided.
Here are some topics that you can be expected to be covered:
- the importance of shooting what you love and making sure that is what you are ‘selling’ to the public
- website/social media review
- logo review / product packaging review (if applicable)
- how to charge for what you are offering
- products to offer that fit your brand
- the pros/cons of selling digital images
- in home sales vs. on line Gallery and best practices for payment
- the importance and how to market to your target market
- marketing lists
- developing marketing plans
- tips to free up time in your workflow to focus on marketing
- creating + maintaining a loyal client base
- the importance of customer service
- when and how to say ‘no’ (it’s a good thing :))
- common client scenarios
And here are some testimonials from past students:
If you want to transform your business and take it to the next level….if you want to get off to the best start….this class is for you! I wish I would have had this class three years ago when I just started. It has been the best class I have invested in. Jennifer breaks it down and simplifies it. She makes it real by sharing her own experiences and she makes it fun! She really has a desire to see people succeed! I loved every bit of this class.

I am a photographer who is comfortable with my skill set, but needed a lot of guidance with my pricing, marketing, and overall business practice. Basically I needed some motivation and that is exactly what I got. I could tell Jen really had an interest in making my business better and her no nonsense, straight forward approach to teaching really gave me a solid foundation to move forward. This class was all I expected and more, I only wish it had been longer! You can't go wrong with this class, it is well worth the time and money you will invest.
- Lyndsey G.
Taking Care of Business" was invaluable to me! Jennifer gave me such clear, straightforward and honest guidance and made me feel confident that I am on the right track with getting my business off the ground. She was so thorough going through all the elements of my business - from social media sites to my pricing to marketing. Her video lessons and feedback are great - they totally make the classpersonal, and I love her no-nonsense, tell-it-how-it-is personality! This class was exactly what I needed. Thank you Jenn!
- Francesca R.
For a long time I have wanted to turn my hobby of photography into a business. However, the word "business" always intimidated me until I took this class. This class has equipped me with a business plan and helped me identify and set goals of how to achieve my dream.
Jennifer cuts straight to the point and will answer all of your questions thoroughly. Her passion to help others succeed in their photography business is evident in her teaching style. I highly recommend this class to anyone feeling like they need direction in starting a photography business.
- Laurie S.
I keep the class sizes small to ensure individualized attention. First come are first served.
Please note: must be a Bloom forum member to register. You can sign up for the class first and then sign up HERE for a Bloom forum membership once registration opens.
You can sign up at Bloom for as little as 3 months for $30 ($10 a month!) but I bet you will be back for more once you find all the goodness the forum has to offer.
Click below on which 'seat' you would like to take advantage of to be in the February class.
And please note: I have received a lot of feedback from silent seaters after they take the class that they 'wished' they did active, so if on the fence, err on the side of active seat.
Once you register you will get a confirmation from Paypal that your payment went through. Once you get that you are in!
I will then touch base with the class a few weeks prior to our start date to say hello and give you a little more on what to expect.
LINKS TO COME DECEMBER 3, 2015 at 11amEST
Thanks all and see you in class.
Please note: silent seats are observers. You will be able to view all the videos and receive the PDF and contract/client questionnaire and copyright disclaimers I use, but you cannot actively participate in the weekly discussion in the forum nor submit homework assignments for critique.
